Mini Nano Progress

I’m falling a bit beind in my word count. A few thousand words behind. Oh well, at least I have something written. Just over 8,300 words – should be at almost 11,000. One of my buddies already has over 60k. He always has more than the NaNo requirement of 50k after only 2 weeks. His goal is generally to end up with a transcript that he can edit and publish. I doubt the short story I’m working on will be published anywhere, but ya never know. I may end up with several shorts that I can submit or put in an anthology at some point.

The story is around faeries and it’s kinda fun doing the reserach, both on the faeries and the area in Scotland where I’ve set it. More research to do. It’s never ending.

Mini NaNo

The writers group I belong to is holding a mini-NaNo event for the first time. Rather than doing 50,000, we can set out own goals. The only criteria is it has to be at least 10,000 words. I’ve decided to work on short stories and have wcyr_nanoset a goal of 25,000. It’s now day 2. So far I’ve written absolutely nothing. LOL

We have several write-ins scheduled this month, the first one being tonight. I think I’ll go over so I won’t have any distractions. If I can get 2,000 down tonight, I’ll be all caught up.
